The London Accessible Housing Register
On the 14 July Carolynne and Simon attended a briefing in Bromley about the new London Accessible Housing Register. This is a plan to identify the number of accessible social homes there are in London – so that when they come up through the choice based lettings system people know what the homes have.
This is a good idea – and should give people more information about the homes that are out there. BUT – it doesn’t get away from the fact that there aren’t enough homes for people! So don’t expect it to make too much difference.
The scheme is only just getting going – so look out for more information in your choice based Lettings magazine over the next year. Also – it will only apply to London homes – so if you are looking to move into the Home Counties the information wont necessarily be available.
Don’t forget that LAPD can help with your application.
